Collection will be on a Monday night only and nucleus are not available for collection during the day time. Once purchased you will be sent a follow up email with full instructions and a date arranged for pick-up.

Nucleus will be treated for varroa before collection.

Why buy a nucleus instead of a package?

Nucleus hives are a small beehive with a newly raised and mated laying queen and all stages of brood along with honey and pollen. They will develop faster than a package and can be inspected for signs of disease that cannot be detected if there is no brood. 

The bees will be installed in a sturdy 5 frame plastic nucleus which you keep - great for collecting swarms. 

If you wish to get started in beekeeping and already have a hive or have purchased a starter kit from us, then this will populate your hive with an already established colony.

Recommended purchase of $10 mesh bag, if travelling with nucleus in vehicle.
